When April is cancelled, fill it with cuddles instead.
13th April 2020
Four weeks ago we packed our bag with a bottle and a couple of treats, hopped onto the bus and went to my little girl’s swim lesson.
Since then her first Birthday party has been cancelled and her first holiday has been refunded. We’ve also just spent Easter in our garden-less flat with melted Easter Eggs. (I’m sure it’s not usually this hot in April?) We did have an Easter egg hunt though, which involved the bunny reading her books and hiding in her ball pit which is probably more fun than running around the garden anyway.
We have been out to feed the ducks twice, although the seagulls did decide to attack us. Unfortunately others in our block are ignoring the lock down and it’s really not worth the risk as our little girl could have complications with her breathing.
So instead we’re taking the time to make memories inside our home. She’s started to walk, discovered she can make clicky sounds with her tongue and is very determined to say hello. We’re lucky in a sense she’s too young to understand what she’s missing.
I need to remind myself that looking at the big picture, it’s not important.
I hope you’re all doing okay.
